Roller Freestyle (Aggressive Inline) Competition for Kids & Amateurs
Blade Hunter is a welcoming competition for kids and amateur bladers, focused on skill-building, sportsmanship, and having fun. Free workshops are offered before the competition to help participants prepare, practice techniques, and feel confident on the course.
Meet The Team
Michael Galloway and John Perez founded Blade Hunter in 2025 with a mission to foster the next generation of bladers. Their passion is to create opportunities for amateurs and kids to learn, compete, and grow in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Michael Galloway is an experienced athlete with over 10 years of fitness experience and the founder of X-Cons Fitness, a community focused on helping people get active, build strength, and stay consistent through connection and accountability.

John Perez is the founder of Everyday Strong Movement LLC, a strength training and movement coaching business. He helps people get stronger, move better, and build confidence through training shaped by his background as a professional stuntman, acrobat, and dancer. Guided by the motto, “It doesn’t get easier, you get better,” John hopes to inspire others to explore movement and creativity on and off skates.

Park Rules
- No alcohol is permitted anywhere on park property, including the parking lot.
- No smoking is allowed inside the park. A designated smoking area will be available outside the park.
- No pets are allowed in the park. Service animals are welcome but must be leashed at all times.
- Failure to follow these rules may result in removal from the event.
Event Tips
- Bring plenty of water — May can be hot!
- A food truck will be available on-site.
- This is a B.Y.O.C. event (Bring Your Own Chair) and shade!
- Free parking is available. We encourage you to arrive early to secure a good parking spot.
- You are responsible for your belongings. If left unattended, it is at your own risk. We recommend having someone present at all times.

Competition Format
Competition Rules & Etiquette
- Helmets are mandatory for all competitors. NO EXCEPTIONS!
- Please check-in at the Blade Hunter Event booth upon arrival.
- You are responsible for being present when your heat is called. If you miss your heat, you will be disqualified!
- Competitors are strongly encouraged to know their limits.
- Be respectful and supportive of your fellow competitors.
- Safety and fun are top priorities — look out for each other while skating!
Format
Prelims
5–6 bladers will compete in a 5-minute jam-style heat.
After each heat, judges will select two bladers to advance:
Heat Winner and a Wild Card.
Wild Card Round
Wild card riders will compete in a 45 second timed run. Each competitor will have 1 run to showcase their best performance.
The winner of this round will advance to the Finals.
Tie-Breakers
In the event of a tie, a 45 second timed run will be used to determine the winner. Each competitor will have 1 run to showcase their best performance.
Finals
The final round will be an 8 minute jam-style competition.
Judging Criteria
Execution
Competitors will be judged on their ability to perform tricks smoothly throughout the run. Falls, bails, and sketchy landings will negatively impact execution scores. Long, clean lines will enhance execution scores.
Style (Steez)
Competitors will be judged on their creativity and personal flair — approaching obstacles in unconventional ways, adding finesse to tricks, and engaging the audience.
Technicality
Judges will assess the complexity, difficulty, and risk of tricks — executing advanced grinds, spins, flips, flat-ground tricks, and flowing through high-difficulty transitions.
Use of Park & Obstacles
Competitors will be judged on how well they utilize the park’s layout, incorporating a variety of obstacles and transitions cohesively to highlight execution, style, and technicality.
